The GOI, led by Hon’ble Premier Shri Narendra Modi, has inaugurated a new Signature Plan for a considerable expenditure of Rs 20,050 Crores to grow Fisheries Holistically in India, under the leadership of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.

The purpose of PMMSI is to promote a green, financially feasible & socially sustainable society that makes significant contributions to the economy & well for fishermen and fishermen, and to the fitness and food welfare of the nation. The scheme aims at supplementing or increasing agriculture, modernizing processing and reducing agricultural waste, and using the capability in the fisheries sector. The government planned to introduce a robust fishery organizational structure and monitor the gaps throughout the value chain for Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The government has clearly shown that the ‘Neel Kranti’ or the ‘Blue Revolution’ is the world’s leader in fish production. It includes the Food Safety, Food Parks, and Infrastructure systems of MoFPI.
